This workshop will build the skills of our young actors so that they are able to develop into confident performers who understand and can use their stage skills to create work. They will follow a programme of activity that they develop with the workshop leader which may include developing a piece of theatre, or one off sessions in specific styles.

BYT Young Actor's Rep Company (by audition)

The Rep Company is for young people who are particularly interested in developing a strong theatre practice and potentially working as an actor n the future. It is for young people who want to take the next step as a performer and push their abilities to new limits.

Arrow (Art: a resource for reconciliation over the world)

for School Years 9, 10, 11 and Young People aged 16-25

Tuesday 6.00pm – 7.30pm

Arrow is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a theatre group with a difference. It is for young people who are passionate about the arts and want to help make a difference to society. You will have the chance to express your opinions about issues that affect you locally and globally. There may even be the opportunity to travel within the UK and overseas.

 

Writing Workshop led by Mandy Precious

for School Years 9, 10, 11 and Young People aged 16-25

Tuesday 6.30pm - 7.30pm

This project is for young people from year 9 upwards who are interested in writing for theatre. Workshops will include an exploration of plot, story, conflict, character and dialogue, amongst other things. Script-in-hand performances will take place during the sharing event.

 

Short Film Making Workshop led by Dan Morris

for School Years 9, 10, 11 and Young People aged 16- 25

Thursday 6pm - 7.30pm

Like Film? Want to act in front of a camera? Or want to work behind it? Come and participate in BYT’s first short filmmaking class. We will devise the plot, write the script, film it, star in it and then edit the film. At the end of the term, we will have a screening of the film for friends and family.  The finished piece could be entered it into various young persons’ film festivals.
